Have him lose weight, that is the major reason people snore becuase of the fat in the back of their throat. They make breath right strips, try that or try..
Those lovely little strips you can find in almost every pharmacy…
“breathe rights” they are…
My boyfriend had the same issue, he used them and right away it cleared up the air passages in his nose. Also, if your husband sleeps with his nose buried into the pillow, suggest he tries sleeping on his side or back, and see if that changes anything.
If the strips fail, the doctor can usually provide some sort of relief medication of some sort!

my dad snored until he broke his c2 and has in a halo then he didnt snore anymore.. so put him in a halo butt u’ll miss it or at least i did it was kind of my security thing i felt safe when i heard him snore and when i didnt i couldnt sleep
there are many things out there for it my hubby snores too so i know what its like but to be truthfull ive never found them to work i just try and fall off to sleep before he does
There’s a few ways. You could just punch him but that only temporary. I know the breath-right strips help; just place over the nose. Lying on his side helps well. Also loosing weight can help.
The lying on side always shuts my grandpa up.
Although, I am not a doctor, nor do I claim the right to give medical advice, this COULD be a life threatening situation. Seriously, I researched it on the web once when my hubby began snoring out of the blue. I can’t remember what the diagnosis consisted of, but if you feel that it is abnormal or something other than fatigue/tiredness, consult your physician. I was sooo worried about my hubby, but it soon went away. He had a rough couple of weeks where he was working a lot @ the ranch & became really tired. But if you think it might be a serious condition, it is always best to consult a medical physician.
I shall relate an incident from a country from middle east. A man got married with a very beautiful young lady. She had the habit of snoring. The family of the girl hid this fact from the bridegroom’s family. Few days after the marriage the husband filed a divorce suit on the basis of this snoring.
The wife suggested to the judge a solution to arrive at a compromise. She suggested that she will sleep during the day when the husband is away at work and that she will not sleep or snore in the night. The judge, the husband, the families and advocates, all agreed to this solution. And then they lived happily thereafter. This story must be true because I read it as a news item in a prestigious newspaper. I forgot which newspaper. I had a paper clipping. That too I lost. That is another story. Another time.
Sometimes snoring is the sign of a much more serious condition called obstructive sleep apnea. Do you notice if he kind of gasps for air?
The fact of the matter is this: if he hasOSA, he is already waking up many, many times a night because his body is telling him that it needs some air. He just doesn’t realize that it is happening. However, when he wakes up the next day, He is not rested, he starts to fall asleep when he is not intending to, it is all very frustrating.
Obstructive Sleep Apnea happens when the airway closes with an obstruction and the person can no longer take a breath in. They will make the effort to breathe yet they will not be able to get any air in. The heart rate slows, the oxygen level in the body drops and the body fights to breathe. It is something like drowning or suffocation. Because the oxygen level in the body drops, there are serious consequences to not dealing with ones Obstructive Sleep Apnea. The following are things that can possible happen with someone who ignores their OSA:
1. Never Rested, irritable, stress increases
2. Right sided heart failure (cor pulmonale)
3. Pulmonary Hypertension
4. Death
When you take him to go and see your Pulmonologist, he/she will recommend a sleep study. At the sleep study, they will hook him up to all kinds of different devices to see how you are sleeping. If indeed he does have OSA, the most common form of treatment is CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure).
This device will help keep the airways open.
If you have ever watched anyone sleep who has obstructive sleep apnea, it might seem strange for a while, then, it gets familiar, and then it turns into, “well, that is just how he sleeps.” It is dangerous not to get Obstructive Sleep Apnea treated. A lot of people refuse to wear CPAP because, “it looks funny”, “it feels uncomfortable”, “it blows in my eyes”. Whatever the reason, it is better to go ahead and wear the CPAP then to make excuses not to wear it.
There is surgery to remove the excess tissue of the throat. I have only seen this done twice. Once was a friend of mine. She said her throat was sore for months. It is a more drastic, invasive measure, but it is also used to correct this problem.
I say which ever way he uses to help him keep breathing at night is good. Just don’t ignore the problem. It will not go away and will eventually lead to him being hooked up to more invasive devices than the CPAP machine.
you cant. he cant help it. thats an involuntary issue.
he more than likely has sleep apnea. you should have him see his dr, get sleep tested. if he has to sleep with a machine, so be it. it’ll be the best night of sleep he’s ever had…. not only am i respiratory therapist, but i suffer from sleep apnea

Go buy this spray, forgot the name, to help your hubby stop snoring.
Otherwise, he needs to sleep with his mouth closed.
