Horses usually sleep standing, if they lay down that could be sign of ilnes.

she and every other horse at my yard (13) must be very very ill then

nearly every day.
yes it can be the sign of ilnes but if you know what your looking for and you know your horse you can spot if its ill or just fancy a lie down!!!!!!!!!

if they lie down when they are ill then like i said she must of been ill for he hole 4 years of life…. and every other horse in the world.
i take it you downt own a horse?
